Our snow groomers are returning home after a great and labour-intensive winter season. In just one ski area of Cortina, called Faloria they are still operating until May 1. In all other ski resorts, they will now go into a summer hibernation, get their energy recharged and will then be all set for the next winter season, starting in less than 7 months. Today we celebrate the International Earth Day. It is a good opportunity to think on how humanity has been treating our planet. We should think of it every single day and keep in mind, that every small effort matters. It starts right from us! We can make a difference. Help us in our project of reforestation. With 5€ you make a valuable contribution to the reforestation at Plan de Corones, an area that was literally razed by hurricane Vaia on 30 October 2018 and one year later, a heavy early snowfall broke thousands of trees, that were not ready for winter yet. This event later gave rise to the bark beetle plague, a tiny parasite that nests under the bark of pine trees, killing them. With the ECO PREMIUM BADGE “PLANT A TREE” Dolomiti Superski wants to contribute to restore forest by doubling the funds raised. In spring a reforestation project will be carried out in collaboration with the Forestry Inspectorate Brunico. Thousands of small pines, firs, larches, stone pine trees and even broadleaf trees will be planted to revive the forest of that area, that can be seen from the Pré da Peres slope at Passo Furcia in the ski resort Kronplatz.
